The Construction Safety Audit Scoring System (ConSASS) is an audit assessment tool comprising of an audit checklist and score card developed for Construction companies to provide an independent assessment of the safety and health management system at a worksite, and to evaluate the effectiveness and development status of the worksite’s safety and health management system.
All construction sites with contracts valued above $30 million are required to conduct ConSASS audit. In this course, we will discuss how ConSASS is conducted, the banding system and how we can improve our Safety Management System using ConSASS.
From 1 October 2021 onwards, the new ConSASS checklist shall be used.
Key major differences:
- Number of System Elements is increased from 17 to 20, in alignment with ISO 45001;
- Number of bands is decreased from 4 to 3, to place lesser focus on documentation checks;
- Number of questions is reduced from 348 to 204 (reduction of 41.1%);
- Added focus on the implementation of WSH practices, with percentage of questions on implementation increased from 37.9% to 50.9% of total questions; and
- Addition of new questions aligned to WSH 2028 recommendations (Ownership, Health and Technology), Design for Safety, Near Miss Reporting etc.
The course will familiarize you with all the elements of ConSASS, the different bands and the scoring system.
