As a stunning ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 cycle comes to a close the evenness of the ODI series is apparent with every team having at least two players in the top 10 batters and bowlers lists.

It took until the last ODI of the League 2 cycle for places to be confirmed for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifier, but a host of batters and bowlers stood out across the 36 matches that each of the seven teams played.

Many of these leading batters and bowlers will be heading for the Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifier Playoff after their teams failed to secure a spot in the Qualifier, including top run-scorer Gerhard Erasmus (1298 runs).

The consistent Namibia right-hander passed 50 on 12 occasions in 33 innings, converting one of those into a century on the way to his highest ODI score of 121* against Oman.

While Erasmus became a mainstay of the Namibia line-up across the League 2 cycle, many of the batters that also piled on the runs brought plenty of experience into the campaign.

Assad Vala (1290) finished only eight runs behind Erasmus’ League 2 total while usually carrying the hopes of the Papua New Guinea team.

Monank Patel (1219) and Aaron Jones (1184) proved a formidable pair coming in at three and four for the USA, while Jatinder Singh (1098) hit three tons for Oman, the joint-most in the series.

UAE young gun Vriitya Aravind (1047) looms as one to watch after the 20-year-old regularly made strong starts and reached two centuries with a top score of 115* against Namibia.

Left-arm pacer Bilal Khan (76 wickets) was integral to Oman securing their spot at the Cricket World Cup Qualifier and claimed the most wickets in the League 2 cycle.

Nepal spinner Sandeep Lamichhane (72) is next on the list, followed by another left-arm quick in Saurabh Netravalkar (58) from the USA.

Scotland finished on top of the League 2 standings with emerging left-arm spinner Mark Watt (54) their most damaging bowler, as Namibia also benefited from a left-arm speedster in Ruben Trumpelmann (51).
